The program will detect all new Actias and add them in it's software, I like to have all my cars in it's software, I even prefer to type the make, model, year and then "Clone this car" to download all of them plus all the car related topics I often need on other cars. I did not notice any performance decrease when I do it, I could have download them using the Backup mode and backup every software update and change them all over again, however that would take a long time and I just do it in one software update.
The 2nd generation Actia VCI2G is the bane of our lives (I've got it on a F30 328i).It's a magnificent tool, but it's like a nuclear bomb whenever you connect it to a car. The massive quantity of records on the display are not that useful, so I decided to make some changes for this program. I have a lot of functions on this program, no doubt. Here is the information:
According to Actia support the new version takes significantly more space and power. The only thing is you will need a firmware flashable with the latest version (v201843.51) (see pin code for info). Fortunately, Actia has just released a program based on Delphi to flash the new version free and legit.
One of the major drawback of the newer generation Actia is that the program will not work with newer models (Euro 5+). It is still there though. Maybe the interface tool will be adapted at some point and in a version based on Passthru.
I hope more support in the future and that the interface will become more transparent and fluent. For now the solution is to Flash the new version of Actia with the latest v201843.51. I'm using Delphi XE3 to do the flashing. 3d9ccd7d82
